CASE STUDY
Pathways to Start
Highlands and Islands Enterprise
A series of participant-led films created to support recruitment and engagement for a fully funded business start-up programme across Moray and Argyll & the Isles.
The Challenge
HIE needed to engage underrepresented groups and encourage new business start-ups across Moray and Argyll & the Isles. The challenge was to communicate real experiences in a way that felt accessible, relatable and motivating, while clearly showing what the programme offers and how it supports people at an early stage.
Our Approach
We created a series of participant-led case study films filmed across multiple locations in Moray and Argyll. The approach focused on real people and real businesses, using natural interviews, observational footage and a warm, human visual style. Each story was designed to feel honest and encouraging, helping viewers see themselves in the programme and take their first step.
Project Impact
The films helped translate complex programme messaging into clear, relatable stories. They played a key role in engaging underrepresented audiences, supporting recruitment across both regions and providing a bank of content that can be reused for future cohorts and campaigns.
Deliverables
Campaign exceeded recruitment targets with 98 applicants in Argyll & the Isles and 58 in Moray
55,000+ impressions across digital channels
Strong engagement across social media and partner platforms
Results
The films helped translate complex programme messaging into clear, relatable stories. They played a key role in engaging underrepresented audiences, supporting recruitment across both regions and providing a bank of content that can be reused for future cohorts and campaigns.

Testimonial
“Working with Jimmy and the JHP Visuals team was easy and inspiring. They immediately understood the scope and was able to use their ethos of “people first” to sensitively and authentically bringt diverse stories to life. Communication was fantastic and despite challenging deadlines, they were able to quickly get out in the field and turn around high quality footage and edits. The editing platform was really useful for multiple users to provide feedback for the editing phase. The videos helped us get high engagement on social media, exceed applicant targets, and we plan to use them for future campaigns. “
