JHPVisuals is looking for a talented Junior Editor to join our team.


Junior Editor Job

We would like to expand our in-house team with a creative and technically minded individual who has a genuine passion for editing. This will be a part-time role, 25 hours per week, initially on a three-month contract, based primarily at our office in Glasgow.


We’re keen to speak with candidates who have previous experience, recent graduates, or anyone who is self-taught.


Key Tasks:


  • Creating and assembling engaging edits

  • Interpret a creative brief and design a video around it

  • Ingesting footage and being responsible for the safe transfer of content

  • Keeping project files organised and well-maintained in line with the company policy

  • Processing footage and selects

  • Working closely with the editor to support the completion of projects

  • Producing motion graphics, titles and animations

  • Colour Grading

  • Editing on location

  • Producing videos for different platforms

  • Finalising edits, including sound mixing and captioning


We are looking for someone who has the following:


  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Proficiency in industry-standard video editing and animation software (At least one of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Da Vinci Resolve, etc.)

  • Sound knowledge of visual storytelling principles, pacing, and narrative structure

  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey creative ideas and work closely with the team

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.

  • Good understanding of Social Media and content delivery platforms, including Instagram and YouTube.

  • An advanced level of IT skills

  • A continual desire to improve

  • Interpret feedback/direction accurately

  • Have a great work ethic

  • Enjoy working in a passionate team and want to see the company grow

  • Have a passion for keeping up to date with the latest industry trends

  • Be able to adapt to a rapidly changing working environment and handle multiple projects at once

  • Take direction when required, whilst also working autonomously to self-direct and take ownership of a project where necessary

  • An interest in cinematography and a willingness to assist on shoots where required

  • An interest in the outdoors and nature, and a willingness to work on projects promoting their preservation

It will initially be a three-month contract, with a view to extending at the end of this period for the right candidate.


The salary will be in line with the Real Living Wage, 25 hours per week. The full-time equivalent salary will be £24,570.00 per annum.
